Una Colombia con suplentes a mantener el invicto ante Costa Rica

 José Pékerman le dará descanso a muchos de los titulares habituales del combinado nacional en el último partido de la fase de grupos de la Copa América.

Hasta el momento el mundial de Brasil 2014 y la Copa América Centenario están teniendo un desarrollo casi que calcado para la Selección Colombia. En el torneo orbital, hace dos años, el ‘equipo de todos’ pisó fuerte en las dos primeras jornadas de la fase de grupos con sendas victorias ante Grecia y Costa de Marfil y para la última fecha, ante Japón, puso en cancha un equipo con ocho cambios respecto al once titular habitual. Todo parece indicar que esa historia ante los japoneses en Brasil se repetirá este sábado ante Costa Rica.

Colombia ya está clasificada a los cuartos de final de la Copa América Centenario, con un empate ante Costa Rica en la última fecha del grupo A le bastará para conservar la primera posición, un escenario que parece propicio para darle descanso a muchos de los titulares y que de esa manera los suplentes tengan minutos de competencia. Así lo confirmó José Pékerman en la rueda de prensa que siempre ofrece un día antes del partido

“Seguramente vamos a hacer variantes, tenemos la necesidad y también era un objetivo poder hacer algún cambio si existía la posibilidad de competir y darle la mayor cantidad de rodaje a los jugadores”.

Cambios que parecen obligados para este partido son los de los dos defensores centrales del seleccionado patrio. Cristian Zapata sigue recuperándose de la molestia muscular que lo hizo salir en el partido ante Paraguay y Jeison Murillo llega con una tarjeta amarilla que si volviera a recibir en el partido de hoy lo dejaría afuera del duelo de cuartos de final. Sin embargo, Pékerman sorprendió a propios y extraños cuando en la atención a los medios de comunicación dejó entrever que Robinson Zapata también sería de la partida ante los ‘ticos’ reemplazando a David Ospina.

Así las cosas, la Colombia que enfrentará a Costa Rica hoy, a partir de las 8:20 pm hora colombiana, estará conformada por una buena cantidad de suplentes. Nombres como los de Marlos Moreno, Dayro Moreno, Carlos Sánchez, Guillermo Celis, Felipe Aguilar y Yerri Mina, entre otros, suenan fuertemente para ser de la partida esta noche. Aún es duda la suplencia de James Rodríguez pues ante Paraguay quedó demostrado que el capitán de la selección quiere sumar en la Copa América todos los minutos que padeció en el banquillo del Real Madrid.

El historial entre Colombia y Costa Rica en Copa América es totalmente favorable a nuestra selección. En total han sido tres enfrentamientos y todos fueron triunfos para Colombia: en 1997 con un resultado de 4 a 1, en los cuartos de final de la Copa América de 2004 fue victoria por 2 a 0 y en 2011 el triunfo fue por 1 a 0. De esta manera, Colombia saldrá con suplentes este sábado al NGR Stadium de Houston, Texas, a mantener la paternidad ante los ‘ticos’ y de paso mantener el invicto en la presente Copa América Centenario.
