El técnico paisa reemplazará al matemático Otero.

Luego de que, hoy en horas de la mañana se anunciara que Nestor Otero dejaría de ser técnico de Rionegro Águilas aludiendo motivos personales, el club antioqueño no perdió tiempo buscando su reemplazo y nombraron al paisa Pedro Sarmiento como su nuevo entrenador. El ex jugador de clubes como Nacional, Amèrica de Cali y la Selecciòn Colombia llega a las Aguilas luego de 2 años sin entrenar, siendo su último equipo el DIM hasta el año 2014.

Sarmiento llega con la responsabilidad de ratificar la buena campaña que hizo este semestre el equipo joven de Antioquia, demostrando que sus buenos resultados de este torneo no fueron casualidad, y tener la oportunidad de llevar, porque no, al club a disputar por lo menos su primera final.

“Acepté la propuesta de los directivos porque son personas de fútbol y es un proyecto interesante. Quiero que el equipo siga en los primeros lugares y vuelva a ser protagonista del campeonato. Este grupo de jugadores demostró que puede jugar al mismo nivel de cualquier rival, logró cosas importantes y eso demuestra que es un protagonista del fútbol colombiano”, declaró Sarmiento.

El técnico de 59 años ha dirigido en su carrera a los clubes de Medellín, Cali, Santa Fe, Cúcuta, Pereira, Envigado y de nuevo Medellín, siendo campeón en los años 2004 y 2005, con el poderoso y el azucarero respectivamente.

Sarmiento tendrá su primer contacto con el equipo el día martes, con el cual trabajará arduamente en busca de darle una gloria a la gente de Rionegro.
