Brasil se enfrenta a la Copa América Centenario con varias bajas en su plantilla.
Esta vez es el mediocampista Luiz Gustavo, jugador del Wolfsburgo, quien solicito a La Confederación Brasileña de Fútbol (CBF) dejar el plantel debido a que enfrenta problemas de carácter personal.
En un comunicado realizado por la CBF, Luiz Gustavo dijo “ya había relatado a la comisión técnica, cuando aún estaba en Brasil, que tenía problemas, al punto que se hace necesaria ahora mi presencia al lado de mis familiares”. El jugador ya había hablado al respecto con Dunga, director técnico de la selección de Brasil, el cual permitió la salida del jugador y además le manifestó su apoyo para salir de esta situación.
Debido a esto, Dunga convocó al volante Walace, jugador del Gremio, para sustituir a Gustavo, quien se suma a los nuevos jugadores que integran la selección ya que en los últimos días ha tenido 5 bajas más por la salida inesperada de jugadores como Ricardo Oliveira, Douglas Costa, Rafinha, Ederson y Kaká. Aunque puede que esta no sea la última baja del seleccionado puesto que deben esperar las pruebas médicas realizadas a Miranda para conocer la gravedad de la lesión de este jugador.
Y como si fuera poco deben esperar la aprobación por parte de la Confederación Sudamericana de Fútbol (Conmebol) para poder incluir a Walace entre los convocados.
