Torrente abandona el Once Caldas y se va para México a dirigir al club león, así lo hizo oficial el equipo de Manizales en su cuenta oficial de Twitter. El entrenador argentino era el timonel del Once Caldas desde el año 2015, donde había sido objeto de criticas debido a sus malos comportamientos dentro de la cancha.

Javier tiene una gran experiencia ya que fue asistente técnico de Marcelo Bielsa cuando dirigió en España, en la Selección Chilena y el Olimpique de Marsella. Además, fue el primer entrenador en Cerro Porteño, Coronel Bolognesi, Libertad, Newell’s Old Boys, Nacional, Cobreloa, Once Caldas y emprenderá su viaje a México.
