EL NUEVO ASISTENTE TÉCNICO DE MILLONARIOS TIENE EXPERIENCIA TRAS SER ÍDOLO EN SANTA FE, A MEDIADOS DE LOS 80.

Tras la sorpresiva salida de Diego Cocca del banquillo de Millonarios, las directivas se pusieron en contacto con otro argentino, caso de Miguel Ángel Russo, quien incluso, fue oficializado en las últimas horas como nuevo timonel «embajador».

Pero, Russo llega con una larga trayectoria al banquillo de Millonarios y junto con él, un hombre, cuyos goles y gambetas dieron muchas alegrías hace ya casi 30 años a los hinchas de Santa Fe, haciendo referencia a Hugo Gottardi, quien se enfunda en el puesto de asistente técnico de Millonarios, siendo un fiel escudero de Russo, durante más de 25 años.

Gottardi, que en la actualidad cuenta con 63 años, es recordado por ser uno de los grandes ídolos de Santa Fe, en su estadía entre 1983 y 1986, donde en dos oportunidades fue el Botín de Oro del Fútbol Profesional Colombiano, teniendo en cuenta sus 29 goles en la liga de 1983, donde terminó como goleador por encima de otro grande como Willington Ortiz, quien hizo 22. Inclusive, al año siguiente, Gottardi repitió como máximo artillero, esta vez con 23 tantos, siendo importante, a pesar de que Santa Fe no clasificó al octogonal final, donde el América de Cali terminaría saliendo campeón.

Dejó una gran cifra en esos casi 3 años como «cardenal», cosechando 59 goles en más de 100 partidos. Pero como jugador también militó en Estudiantes de La Plata, donde anotó más de 120 goles, vistiendo los colores de Racing de Avellaneda y Talleres, entre otros. Su única experiencia como entrenador se dio en Talleres de Remedios en Argentina. Es además, el 14° goleador histórico del fútbol de su país, donde anotó un total de 186 goles, divididos en 125 con el «pincha», 54 con Racing y 7 conseguidos jugando para Talleres de Córdoba. Su gran logro como asistente ha sido la Copa Libertadores de 2007, cuando integró el cuerpo técnico precisamente de Miguel Russo.

Una de sus grandes anécdotas y que siempre recuerda es en esa época entre 1985 y 1986, cuando seguía en Santa Fe y, en época de definición de convocados para el memorable Mundial de México de dicho año, el entrenador Carlos Salvador Bilardo tenía en mente a Gottardi para llevarlo a la Copa del Mundo, aunque fue por una grave lesión, específicamente una rotura de ligamentos que sufrió el argentino en un encuentro ante el Cúcuta, lo marginó de esa única oportunidad.
