El conjunto ‘Embajador’ tuvo un partido con altibajos, frente a un Jaguares que le complicó el primer tiempo. Pero desde el punto blanco Millos consiguió un boleto a la siguiente fase y sigue soñando.

En el amanecer del encuentro Millonarios salió con más actitud que en otros partidos pero su rendimiento cayó en picada y las buenas intenciones del cuerpo técnico se vieron envueltas en una crisis. El equipo realizó tan solo cuatro opciones de gol en el primer tiempo y en el minuto 40 Juan José Mezu, anotó para Jaguares y el Campín quedó en silencio.

El idilio de Russo con la afición parece llegar a un punto culminante, pues el conjunto no encuentra su rumbo y los hinchas comienzan a pedir resultados. El cuerpo técnico optó por realizar dos cambios en el segundo tiempo. Se retiraron David Macalister Silva y Henry Rojas para darle ingreso a Óscar Barreto y Roberto Ovelar.

Precisamente, Barreto anotó el empate para los embajadores que sufrieron más de la cuenta con el conjunto felino. El segundo tiempo avanzaba y Millonarios por el favoritismo trató en varias ocasiones de conseguir el tanto de la victoria, Del Valle tuvo dos oportunidades, una atajada por Escobar y otra pegó en el palo izquierdo del portero. Hauche también intentó pero nuevamente el arquero José Huber mandó el balón al tiro de esquina.

Los dirigidos por Russo no pudieron romper el cerrojo del equipo de Montería y se fueron a la tanda de penales. Desde los once pasos el venezolano Wuilker Faríñez fue el salvador de Millonarios, el guardameta atajó dos cobros y el equipo ‘felino’ falló otro, solo Wilmer Díaz anotó para los de Robatto. Mientras que para los azules anotaron Cadavid, Domínguez y Ayron, Hauche desperdició el tercer penal.

3-1 quedó la serie y los miles de hinchas en El Campín celebraron a rabiar. Ahora los embajadores se enfrentarán a Once Caldas quien eliminó a Santa Fe, y podrá soñar con la posibilidad de levantar nuevamente el trofeo, cómo en el 2011, y conseguir un cupo directo a la Copa Libertadores del 2019. Su próximo partido será el sábado frente a Bucaramanga.
