Después de las vacaciones de final de año y de hacer un balance sobre las posiciones que deben reforzar,Fortaleza inició pre temporada el 9 de enero del 2018.

«Los reyes del twitter», empiezan a mover la bolsa de jugadores para encarar los torneos que van a disputar esta primera parte del año, sus dos primeras incorporaciones son juveniles que ya debutaron  en la máxima categoría del fútbol colombiano, son procedentes del poderoso de la montaña, equipo el cual es dueño de sus derechos deportivos.

Una de  las caras nuevas que tendrá «forta» sera Wilson Mateo Lopez, joven de 20 años, volante creativo, perfil zurdo, del Urabá Antioqueño, en su trayectoria fue tricampeón con la Selección Antioquia y su único equipo profesional ha sido Independiente Medellín en el cual debutó en el  2015.

Su acompañante sera Ivan Camilo Mora, volante de marca con perfil derecho, nacido en Chicoral (Espinal-Tolima), que tan solo con 19 años ya tuvo la oportunidad de pertenecer a dos grandes clubes del fútbol colombiano, como lo son Bucaramanga e Independiente Medellín, equipo en el cual debutó con el estratega Leonel Álvarez  en 2016 frente al Once Caldas.

Los dos jugadores llegan a la capital en préstamo , inicialmente por seis meses ,   de igual manera Fortaleza buscará el préstamo del jugador Jhohan Sebastian Romaña, donde han tenido acercamientos pero no se ha podido concretar el fichaje del defensa central.
