Cada vez falta menos para el mundial Rusia 2018. Todo el país se encuentra a la expectativa, por lo que será el papel de la selección Colombia y donde muchas selecciones vienen con buenos equipos, por lo que se espera una gran competición acompañado de un magnifico escenario con millones de personas de todo el mundo.

En Colombia durante los últimos años y los procesos de la selección, han sido muy pocos los jugadores llamados del rentado nacional, ya que la mayoría son los jugadores que están consolidados en las grandes ligas del mundo. Esta vez queremos resaltar a los jugadores que estando con Millonarios han sido convocados durante los últimos años.

El primer jugador que llegó a la selección fue Osman Lopez, que vistiendo la camiseta azul hizo parte del equipo que estaba en las eliminatorias camino a Francia 98, pero una terrible lesión lo sacó de carrera en un partido contra Perú en Barranquilla.

El segundo y mas reciente fue Gerardo Bedoya, quien fue llamado por Eduardo Lara en las eliminatorias camino a Sudáfrica 2010. Gerardo jugaba en Millonarios de volante de contención y su gran nivel en el equipo le dio la oportunidad de ponerse la tricolor.

Rafael Robayo fue llamado a la selección en el 2011, debido a la lesión de Freddy Guarín cuando Leonel Alvarez estaba dirigiendo. Robayo no jugó pero estuvo en el banco de suplentes. Tiempo después debutaría con la camiseta de la selección, en unos amistosos contra México y Venezuela, quien lo llamaría seria Hérnan el «bolillo» Gómez.

Por último cabe mencionar a jugadores como Pedro Franco quien es canterano e ídolo de Millonarios. Pedro fue llamado a selección pero no cuando jugaba para los azules, su paso por la selección fue cuando jugaba en el fútbol turco mas exactamente en el besiktas. Hizo parte de procesos juveniles de Colombia, capitán del equipo anfitrión juvenil en el mundial 2011.
