El Miercoles 1 de febrero, a las 6:45 pm, Millonarios hará su debut oficial en el torneo más importante a nivel continental, la Copa Libertadores.

  5. Millonarios participó en la primera edición de la Copa Libertadores, en ese momento llamado Copa Campeones de América, donde sólo participaron siete equipos. Los cuales fueron: Bahía (Brasil), Jorge Wilstermann (Bolivia), Millonarios (Colombia), Olimpia (Paraguay), Peñarol (Uruguay), San Lorenzo (Argentina) y Universidad de Chile (Chile).
  6. El 8 de mayo de 1960, Rubén Pizarro anotó el primer gol de Millonarios en la Copa Libertadores.
  7. El cuadro ‘Embajador’ marcó la primera goleada de visitante en toda la historia del torneo, derrotando a la Universidad de Chile 0-6. Por el cuadro del médico Gabriel Ochoa marcaron: Marino Klinger (2), Rubén Pizarro (2), Orlando Larraz y Rodolfo Michelli.
  8. El arquero de Millonarios, Pablo Centurión (Paraguayo) fue el primer guardameta en atajar un penalti en la Copa Libertadores ante la Universidad de Chile.
  9. Delio Noriega, defensa de Millonarios fue el primer jugador en marcar un autogol en la Copa Libertadores ante Olimpia el 5 de julio de 1960 en la semifinal.
  10. Durante la Copa de 1988 Millonarios goleó 6-1 a Nacional de Uruguay en El Campín, siendo hasta ahora la mayor cantidad de anotaciones que recibe un equipo que ha sido campeón en la historia del torneo.
  11. Millonarios con este partido ante Paranaense, completa 16 participaciones en la Copa Libertadores (1960, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1968, 1973, 1974, 1976, 1979, 1985, 1988, 1989, 1995, 1997, 2013 y 2017)
  12. Arnoldo Iguarán, el ídolo del club, es el máximo artillero de la Copa Libertadores para Millonarios con 12 anotaciones, consiguiendo ser el único colombiano en ser goleador durante dos versiones consecutivas 1987 y 1988, con cuatro y ocho goles respectivamente.
  13. El cuadro ‘Embajador’ suma tres semifinales en el torneo continental, siendo estas su mejores participaciones en los años: 1960, 1973 y 1974 
  14. Millonarios tiene en su historial de Copa Libertadores 94 partidos jugados, con un saldo de 35 victorias, 22 empates
    y 37 derrotas. 
  15. Por Copa Libertadores, Millonarios NUNCA ha ganado ante un equipo brasileño. Ha disputado cinco partidos en los que no ha convertido goles.
