América recibe a Cali en el clásico adelantado por la fecha 17

El clásico caleño validó por la fecha 17 se jugará antes debido a la participación de Cali en Copa Sudamericana.

Será el tercer clásico del año. El primero favoreció al Cali con victoria 2-1 en el Palmaseca validó por la décima fecha de la Liga, El Segundo por como vino el partido, fue un gran resultado como el América que después de ir abajo por dos goles, logró empatar 3-3.

Cali por su parte llega afianzado entre los ocho y quiere seguir sumando para depender de si mismo en su paso a los ocho mejores y disputar las finales. El cuadro verdiblanco se ubica en el quinto lugar de la Liga Águila, con 19 puntos, y de ganar el clásico regional llegaría al tercer puesto. Cali quiere mantener el invicto desde la llegada al banquillo de Hector Cardenas, La última caída del conjunto azucarero se remonta al 8 de marzo. A partir de esa fecha, el equipo disputó 8 partidos (el primero, bajo la dirección de Jairo Arboleda) y tiene un balance de 3 victorias y 5 empates.
