El estadio de Techo adoptó a Santa fe en la fecha 9 de la Liga Águila-II, en esta ocasión se midió con Independiente Medellín. Fueron 90 minutos en los que tanto ‘cardenales’ como ‘paisas’ pudieron salir victoriosos, pero el empate prevaleció y solo adquieren un punto.

Con Kevin Salazar como titular, el onceno de Costas creó algunas jugadas que se fueron desviadas y otras que David Gonzales atajó, por momentos atacaban y en otros bajaba la intensidad, al igual que su rival.

En el complemento, Medellín tuvo la oportunidad de abrir el marcador tras la decición del juez Nicolás Gallo de pitar un penalti a favor del ‘poderoso’, que además de propiciar el gol en contra para Santa fe, llevó consigo la expulsión de Leyder Balanta por doble amarilla. Cristian Marrugo cobró el penal al los 48′  al palo derecho de Leandro Castellanos.

No obstante, Leonardo Pico se decidió a empatar el compromiso, primero con un remate que se fue largo y después creando una jugado por el sector derecho que le quedó a Kevin Salazar para cederle el esférico a Juan Manuel Falcón, quien finalmente anotó el gol.

En los últimos minutos, el ‘poderoso de la montaña’ pudo llevarse los tres puntos, pero un tiro de Juan Fernando Caicedo se estrelló en el palo y sentenció el empate a un gol en la capital.
