Uno de los clásicos más importantes del país se disputará después de 5 años y en Saque de Meta, recordaremos cuál fue el Director técnico que pasó por estos dos equipos y obtuvo más éxitos en la historia del Fútbol Profesional Colombiano.
El clásico número 262 entre los ‘embajadores y los ‘escarlatas’ está a punto de disputarse por la novena jornada de la Liga Águila 2017-I. El último encuentro entre estos dos conjuntos fue el 19 de noviembre de 2011, partido que terminó en victoria para el conjunto capitalino por 2 a 0 con anotaciones de Erick Moreno (32′) y Wilson ‘el pájaro’ Carpintero (76′).
Dos de los más grandes clubes en la historia del Fútbol Profesional Colombiano, por triunfos, hinchada y tradición; protagonizarán el encuentro más atractivo de la jornada. Por lo tanto, en Recuerda con Saque de Meta, analizaremos la exitosa carrera (como director técnico de estos dos conjuntos) del antioqueño Gabriel Ochoa Uribe.
Gabriel ‘el médico’ Ochoa nació el 20 de noviembre de 1929 (87 años) en Sopetrán, municipio de Antioquia. Considerado por muchos como el dirigente más importante en la historia del fútbol colombiano por ser el técnico con más títulos de competiciones de primera división (13).
Con Millonarios.
El dirigente paisa fue el primer director técnico colombiano en dirigir a Millonarios en el año 1957 y también, el que más partidos afrontó con el club ‘embajador’ (546).
Su primer año al mando del conjunto capitalino, fue para el olvido, de los doce equipos que disputaban el torneo, Millonarios terminó de último con 19 puntos, producto de 4 victorias, 7 empates y 11 derrotas. El campeón de este certamen fue Independiente Medellín, con 52 puntos.
En 1958, las cosas cambiaron completamente para el conjunto dirigido por ‘El médico’ Ochoa, 20 victorias, 7 empates y 5 derrotas sumaron 67 puntos que lo ubicaron así en la segunda posición del torneo, dos puntos por detrás del campeón, Independiente Santa Fe.
En 1959 llegaría el primer torneo obtenido por el estratega antioqueño. 22 victorias, 14 empates y tan solo 8 derrotas, lo consagrarían campeón del torneo con 80 puntos, 8 más que el sub campeón Independiente Medellín (72). El conjunto ‘azul’ lograba así su quinta estrella, de la mano de Ochoa y de su delantera conformada por Marino Klinger, Orlando Larraz y Hugo Contreras. El club capitalino con este logro, obtendría un cupo para la Copa Campeones de América de 1960.
En el torneo del siguiente año, debido al enfoque que el director técnico colombiano le diera a la Copa de Campeones de América, el conjunto ‘albiazúl’ disminuiría su desempeño en la Liga y terminaría en la sexta posición de la competición con 61 puntos; cosechando 16 victorias, 13 empates y 15 derrotas. En este torneo, Santa Fe conseguiría su tercer título de ligas nacionales al sumar 83 puntos.
Luego de una buena participación en el torneo continental, al llegar a la semifinal del torneo, Millonarios centraba sus objetivos en la Liga, demostrando el alto nivel durante 3 años consecutivos, marcando en la historia una superioridad frente a los demás equipos. Un imponente y muy superior conjunto ‘albiazul’ obtendría el trofeo del año 1961 al sumar 87 puntos al final del torneo (25V, 12E, 7D), doce puntos más que el segundo, Independiente Medellín. En 1962, nuevamente los dirigidos por Gabriel Ochoa se impondrían a todos los demás equipos y ganarían el torneo con 87 puntos, producto de 25 victorias, 11 empates y 8 derrotas, 5 más que Deportivo Cali, rival directo de ‘los embajadores’ en esta época. Un año después, los dirigidos por ‘el médico’ Ochoa reafirmaban su gran nivel, obteniendo la octava estrella para Millonarios en un torneo muy reñido con Santa Fe como escolta al terminar con 61 puntos, dos menos que los azules que se consagraban por tercera vez consecutiva campeones de Colombia, logro que aumentarían un año más pero sin el mandato de Gabriel Ochoa, quien dejó el puesto por problemas de salud.
Pasaron 8 años para volver a obtener un título y cómo no, de la mano del profesor Ochoa, quien regresaba para volver a la gloria a Millonarios. 84 puntos en total en el torneo, lo consagrarían campeón de esta competición en 1972. Luego de enfrentar dos triangulares finales con Atlético Nacional, Deportivo Cali y Atlético Junior; los ‘embajadores’ lograban su décimo título en la historia del fútbol colombiano, de los cuales 5 fueron con Gabriel Ochoa Uribe en el banco ‘azul’.
Con América.
En 1979 era contratado por América de Cali el doctor Ochoa Uribe, con este club tan solo le bastó un año para colocarlo en las vitrinas de los ganadores de campeonatos colombianos de primera división. Pues en este año, América 0btuvo 65 puntos en la reclasificación de los torneos apertura y finalización y se ubicó así en la primera posición, con 4 puntos por encima de su rival de patio, Deportivo Cali. En los cuadrangulares finales, América clasificó a las finales en segunda posición con 6 puntos, 2 por debajo de Junior, por el grupo B clasificaron Unión Magdalena y Santa Fe. Gracias a una diferencia de +3, América logró su primer título en la Liga colombiana, pues su escolta, Santa Fe, tenía los mismos puntos que los ‘escarlatas’ pero la diferencia de +1 no le permitió obtener la estrella.
Tres años después del primer título de ‘La mechita’, iniciaba la era que lo catalogaría como el único club colombiano en lograr 5 campeonatos consecutivos, todos comandados por su director técnico, Gabriel Ochoa Uribe. 1982, fue el año que dio inicio al mandato de los caleños en esta competición. Luego de ubicarse en la primera posición del torneo apertura con 34 puntos, producto de 12 victorias, 10 empates y 4 derrotas; y de liderar el grupo A en el finalización con 27 puntos (11V, 5E, 5D), los ‘diablos rojos’ clasificarían al octagonal final donde obtendrían la segunda estrella, luego de sumar 20 puntos (8V, 4E, 2D), 3 más que el subcampeón Deportes Tolima.
Un año después, nuevamente, los dirigidos por el estratega paisa, continuarían con el gran desempeño y con 19,75 puntos obtenidos en el octagonal final (0.75 gracias a puntos de bonificación), producto de 7 victorias, 5 empates y 2 derrotas; obtendrían el tercer título y el segundo consecutivo. Cabe resaltar que el título se obtuvo gracias a los puntos de bonificación que se daban en esta edición del torneo, pues Junior tenía 19 puntos y quedó subcampeón por la bonificación que poseía el conjunto ‘rojo’.
En 1984, ‘la mechita’ lideró el grupo B de la apertura de la liga con 20 puntos más un punto de bonificación y respecto a la apertura, nuevamente se ubicaría en la primera posición con 32 puntos (13V, 10E, 3D) y de igual manera, obtenía otro punto por bonificación. En el octagonal final, con 20 puntos se consagraría campeón, con 1.75 puntos más que el segundo, Millonarios.
El cuarto torneo consecutivo lo obtendría ‘el médico’ Ochoa en 1985, al clasificar inicialmente como segundo del grupo B en la Apertura del torneo y primero con 38 puntos producto de 16 victorias, 6 empates y 4 derrotas del apertura, obteniendo por otra parte, 1.50 puntos de bonificación. Ya en el octagonal final, América de nuevo sacó provecho de los puntos de bonificación y obtendría la primera posición con 20.5 puntos, 0.5 puntos más que Deportivo Cali, quien contaba con un punto de bonificación.
Llegaba el año del pentacampeonato consecutivo, 1986. Ya para esta época Gabriel ‘el médico’ Ochoa y su elenco, estaban marcados en la historia del fútbol profesional colombiano, pero esto no era motivo para bajar la guardia. En el torneo apertura los ‘Diablos Rojos’ terminaron en la segunda posición del grupo B con 18 puntos, producto de 7 victorias, 4 empates y 3 derrotas, un punto menos que el líder Junior. En el torneo de finalización, nuevamente ‘la mechita’ terminaba en segunda posición con 33 puntos, uno menos que millonarios. En el octogonal final, América se llevó el título con 22 puntos (9V, 3E, 2D) nuevamente con un punto de bonificación y superando así a Deportivo Cali (20.25 pts).
Pasaron 4 después del impresionante logro obtenido por el club caleño, para obtener nuevamente un título de liga. Esta vez en la Copa Mustang 1990, América finalizó en primera posición de la reclasificación con 59 puntos, sumando 22 victorias, 15 empates y 3 derrotas. Luego en el grupo de los cuadrangulares semifinales, América clasificaba al octagonal final en primera posición con 9 puntos. En la última ronda del torneo, América de Cali se llevó su séptimo título con 11 puntos, tres victorias, 3 empates y ninguna derrota.
Cabe resaltar, que en este periodo de gloria para los ‘escarlatas’ al mando del estratega paisa, llegaron a tres finales consecutivas de Copa Libertadores (1985, 1986, 1987), pero sin la fortuna de consagrarse con el más grande trofeo del continente. En 1985, perderían la final en el tercer encuentro frente a Argentinos Juniors, puesto que en los partidos de ida y vuelta, cada uno ganó uno por la mínima, lo que llevaba a un encuentro de desempate jugado en Asunción, Paraguay. El resultado se definiría en los penaltis, logrando el club argentino su primer trofeo continental tras vencer por 7-5 en la tanda desde los doce pasos.
En 1986, el partido disputado en Cali se lo llevó el club River Plate por 2 a 1, con anotaciones de Roberto Cabañas al 46′ por parte de los locales y Juan Gilberto Funes al 22′ y Norberto Alonso al 25′ darían la ventaja al club Argentino. Ya en el partido de vuelta, un nuevo gol por parte de Juan Gilberto Funes, ratificaría la ventaja y se llevarían así el título de esta edición para Argentina.
En 1987, luego de las duras derrotas contra rivales argentinos en los pasados torneos continentales, llegaba una tercera oportunidad, frente a Peñarol de Uruguay. El sueño nuevamente se iba de sus manos al perder por segunda ocasión en el partido de desempate; un gol de Diego Aguirre al último del segundo tiempo extra, le daría el quinto título al equipo ‘charrúa’.
Querido por muchos y odiado por otros, Gabriel Ochoa Uribe siempre será recordado por su exitosa carrera como director técnico, 7 títulos con América de Cali, 5 con millonarios y uno con Santa Fe, lo catalogan como el director técnico con más títulos en la historia del fútbol profesional colombiano. Un estratega muy inteligente, con muchas diferencias con periodistas y jugadores debido a su fuerte temperamento, pero que con estas actitudes obtuvo un logro que ningún otro entrenador ha logrado obtener.
BONUS SAQUE DE META
Otros de los técnicos que lograron sacar campeón de torneos tanto a Millonarios como a Santa Fe fueron:
Luis Augusto ‘el chiqui’ García, sacó campeón de liga colombiana a Millonarios en dos ocasiones (1987 y 1988) y a América en una oportunidad (1996-97).
Por otra parte, Diego Edison Umaña obtuvo con ‘la mechita’ el título de liga en 2008 y con los ‘embajadores’, a diferencia de los anteriores dirigentes mencionados, no obtuvo algún título, pero llegó a la final de la Copa Merconorte 2000 con el club capitalino. Otro caso similar a este es el de Adolfo Pedernera, quien obtuvo 4 campeonatos con Millonarios (1949, 1951, 1952 y 1953) pero con los ‘escarlatas’, quedó a las puertas del primer título de los ‘diablos rojos’ tras quedar subcampeones en 1960.
El reencuentro entre estos dos grandes e históricos equipos se disputará el próximo sábado 11 de Marzo en el Nemesio Camacho el Campín de la capital de la república a las 7:45 pm con transmisión de RCN, un encuentro imperdible.
