Deportes Tolima y Millonarios se enfrentaron por los octavos de final de la Copa Colomabia, competición en la que ambos equipos han salido campeones. El cuadro de Alberto Gamero, llegó hasta esta instancia, siendo segundo en su grupo, con 3 triunfos, 2 empates y una derrota, mientras que le conjunto ‘embajador’ se posicionó en el primer lugar de su zona con 4 victorias y 2 invictos. Finalmente, hubo un cabezaso de Macalister Silva y nuevamente el golero Joel Silva se lució atajando el intento del cuadro azul y Tolima, una vez más, desperdició la opción de ganar el compromiso mediante la pelota quieta.

De esa manera, queda abierto el compromiso de vuelta en la ciudad de Bogotá, dondeel ganador se encontrará en los cuartos de final contra el vencedor entre el Deportivo Cali y América de Cali, con la ilusión de conseguir el cupo directo a la Copa Sudamericna.

«Hasta el último momento el equipo demostró que no quería irse sin ganar acá, nos entregamos todos y nos llevamos un buen resultado, para nosotros la jugada del penal no es, para el árbitro sí. El equipo va en alza y retomando el nivel colectivo», manifestó Rafael Robayo.
