Mucho se ha especulado sobre el gran reto que enfrentará Atlético Nacional en el próximo Mundial de Clubes, al cual dirá presente debido a ser el último campeón de la Copa Libertadores. Aunque para varios será una oportunidad única de dejar más en alto el nombre del elenco paisa a nivel internacional, otros lo ven como un simple «premio» para ir a «jugar un partido con el campeón de la Champions», por lo que surge la cuestión:

¿Podrá Nacional tener un buen resultado en este certamen? .

Primero debemos aclarar un tema y es el de dejar de pensar que ya Nacional estará midiéndose en el gran partido al Real Madrid. Esto no «pordebajeando» al equipo ni mucho menos, pero, primero hay que jugar el partido de semifinal para luego poder tener el pensamiento enfocado en medirse a, por estos momentos, el mejor equipo del mundo. No va de más recordar casos de años anteriores como el Internacional de Porto Alegre, que en el 2010 perdía ante un tal Mazembe, DE LA REPÚBLICA DEL CONGO, o algo más reciente en 2013, cuando el Atlético Mineiro, con Ronaldinho a la cabeza llegaba listo para medir fuerzas con el Bayern Munich y un tal Raja Casablanca, de Marruecos nada más y nada menos los dejaba afuera, por lo que no debemos estigmatizar a estos equipos que van a este torneo a buscar éxitos y tener aunque sea una oportunidad.

Ahora, Nacional hemos visto que durante los últimos años ha sido si no el más grande ganador de títulos en nuestro territorio, debemos aceptarlo seamos hinchas del equipo que sea pero es la realidad, quizás si con más patrocinio y empresas que invierten en este equipo, pero al fin y al cabo y a diferencia de cuadros como Millonarios, Santa Fe e inclusive el América (ahora en la B) ha sabido aprovechar sus recursos que le brindan y no podemos decir que no si en los últimos 5 años ha logrado alrededor de 9 trofeos, incluyendo la Copa Libertadores y varias ligas colombianas, pero ahí es donde muchos se cuestionan si esto de por si ya es algo grande a nivel mundial o simplemente es uno de esos «grandes en Sudamérica».

Claro que hablando de recursos y títulos también surge una duda y es, la plantilla actual del equipo ¿tendrá si quizás no todos la experiencia y el coraje necesario para afrontar algo de mayor envergadura? No olvidemos que si, hay nombres grandes, de peso e incluso de selección como pasa con Macnelly Torres, Felipe Aguilar, Farid Díaz, Alejandro «lobo» Guerra u Orlando Berrío, pero a su vez cuando se han combinado estos con la juventud en ocasiones han funcionado y en otras han dejado bastante que esperar.

Lo bueno quizás en este caso es que tienen a un líder mucho mayor y que conoce el fútbol a nivel internacional con su estratega Reinaldo Rueda, que anduvo en Ecuador y Honduras por ejemplo y hasta conoce lo que es dirigir en una Copa del Mundo, lo cual para muchos en Sudamérica como tal es de envidiar, pero lo que preocupa en este caso es que a pesar de tener un gran entrenador, el recambio generacional parece que no ha dado los resultados esperados.

No es para menos, ahora sin Alex Mejía, ni Marlos Moreno, Sebastián Pérez, Copete e incluso Víctor Ibarbo, son jugadores que tenía como base el equipo y que gracias a sus actuaciones lograron emigrar al exterior, por lo que los juveniles han intentado ocupar sus lugares y en varias ocasiones no han podido entregar lo que muchos exigen a un equipo campeón, buenos resultados.

Por tal motivo es que lo que Nacional debe hacer, según este humilde pensamiento expresado, es continuar de aquí a diciembre cosechando éxitos, buscando potenciar a sus jugadores jóvenes y mantener el sueño de todos, desde los juveniles hasta los más experimentados intacto. Quizás hay que reconocer, si, en caso de avanzar a una final y medirse quizás al Real Madrid que actualmente está Cristiano Ronaldo, que siempre va de la mano con Messi por ver quien es mejor, y a diferencia de aquellos años, con el potencial de estos jugadores los grandes han cosechado éxitos en todo el mundo.

Pero como el fútbol es tan impredecible no podemos dejar entredicho lo que sucederá. Aunque que bonito que sería poder volver a ver aquellas buenas actuaciones sudamericanas en este tipo de competencias, de demostrar que América tiene talento, que su fútbol también vale, y que mejor oportunidad de demostrarlo que tiene Atlético Nacional.
