Inglaterra da la alternativa a Rashford, de 18 años

 

El Joven y talentoso delantero del Manchester United, Marcus Rashford es la gran sorpresa de la convocatoria de Inglaterra para la Eurocopa, mientras que Danny Drinkwater  del Leicester y Andros Townsend del Newcastle se han quedado fuera de esta convocatoria.

 

Rashford, tiene 18 años y el viernes pasado debutó en el partido amistoso contra Australia con un golazo, y es uno de los 5 delanteros escogidos por el técnico de Inglaterra junto con los grandes Wayne Roney, Harry Kane, Jamie Vardy y Daniel Sturridge.

 

Rashford, disputó su primer partido con el conjunto de Old Trafford en febrero de este mes, y en tres meses y medios ha conseguido asentarse en la primera plantilla del United, debutar con la selección de su pais y ser llamado para una Eurocopa.

El pasado viernes se convirtió en el tercer futbolista más joven en ver portería con los ‘tres leones’

 

El veterano seleccionador se decantó por cinco atacantes -aunque todo apunta a que Rooney retrasará su posición- y un sólo extremo puro -Raheem Sterling-, y optó por dejar fuera a Drinkwater, uno de los futbolistas más destacados del Leicester campeón de la Premier League. Los hombres de Hodgson inician su camino  en la competencia este 11 de junio frente a Rusia en Marsella, cuatro días después se encontrara con Gales en Lens y su último partido en la fase de grupos el 20 de junio ante Eslovaquia, en Saint-Étienne.

Guardametas: Joe Hart (Manchester City), Fraser Forster (Southampton), Tom Heaton (Burnley).

 

Defensas: Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Chris Smalling (Manchester United), John Stones (Everton), Kyle Walker (Tottenham Hotspur), Ryan Bertrand (Southampton), Danny Rose (Tottenham Hotspur), Nathaniel Clyne (Liverpool).

 

Mediocampistas: Dele Alli (Tottenham Hotspur), Ross Barkley (Everton), Eric Dier (Tottenham Hotspur), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Adam Lallana (Liverpool), James Milner (Liverpool), Raheem Sterling (Manchester City), Jack Wilshere (Arsenal).

 

Delanteros: Wayne Rooney (Manchester United), Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Jamie Vardy (Leicester City), Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United). Así las cosas, los tres descartes de Hodgson de la lista inicial de 26 han sido finalmente los centrocampistas Andros Townsend (Newcastle United), Danny Drinkwater (Leicester City) y Fabian Delph (Manchester City).
